Interview with Joe Justin concerning his recollections of the founding and operations of the Nocona Boot Company and its founder, Ms. Enid Justin. Justin discusses the early history of the company, style changes and marketing techniques, his appointment as plant manager in 1951, the "Urban Cowboy" craze, his decision to quit in 1957, his re-employment in 1974, Ms. Enid's illnesses and effect on company operations, the establishment of factory outlet stores, labor policies and efforts to unionize, and the merger with Justin Industries. Appendix includes several photocopies of typed letters and other documents regarding the Nocona shoe businesses [26 leaves], as well as a photocopy of a typed document titled, "The Justin Story: A History of H.J. Justin & Sons, Inc." [15 leaves]

Enid Justin, daughter of pioneer bootmaker J. H. Justin, took over her father's Nocona boot factory after his death in 1918 and her brothers' moved to Fort Worth to re-establish the H. J.
